USMTS Begins

West Siloam Springs, OK - Randy had to hit the road after testing in an ARCA car in Kansas City to start the USMTS season in West Siloam Springs that same evening.

Randy ran third in his heat race Friday night to make the re-draw and get a seventh place starting position in the A main.  Randy made a hard charge to the front challenging Jason Krohn, the defending O'Reilly USMTS National Champion, through most of the race with Krohn winning and Randy finishing second.

The second night of racing saw Randy finish second in his heat race.  This qualified Randy for Saturday night's re-draw where he started sixth in the A main.  After a two hour power outage at the track, the A was finally under way.  For the second straight night Randy finished second, but not without challenging the winner Holzkamper.

Way to Get Things Going, Randy!

Not Bad for a First Timer

Kansas City, KS - Randy was to test an ARCA RE/MAX Series car Thursday, April 3rd at the Kansas Speedway, but the open test was delayed a day for rain.

Randy was the sixth fastest at the test with a lap time of 33.170 and a speed of 160.618.  Randy had enough speed and time to qualify for a race.  Maybe this will go some where!

Great Job Randy!

Struck by Lightning

Enid, OK - Enid Speedway Park hosted Thunder in the Park this past weekend paying $10,000 to the winner of Sunday's A Main.

Thursday and Friday nights were qualifying heat races. Thursday night Randy's toughest competition came from Tommy Weder, Jr.  In the first heat Randy came in first with Weder taking the runner-up spot.  The field was inverted for the second heat and so was the finish with Weder winning and Randy finishing second.  Friday night's heat races brought competition from Jeremy Payne of Springfield, Missouri.  The outcome was the same with Randy winning the first heat and finishing second to Payne in the second heat race.

The 50 lap A Main saw Payne with the pole and Randy starting outside row 1. The race began with Jeremy first and Randy second.  Randy put the heat on Payne several times throughout the race including a few friendly bumps between the two.  At the finish it ended as it began with Payne first and Randy second. But during tech Randy was struck by lightning when his number 5 weighed 14 pounds too light.

Great Effort Randy!!
